Hi I’m Lisa Berry.

I TEACH what I PRACTICE.

I practice Yoga asana, pranayama, mantra and meditation daily.

In other words I move, breathe, sing and sit in silence each day.

When I move, my first love is Yoga vinyasa and this drives my practice and teachings. When I breathe it’s a combination of traditional Yoga breathing techniques and the  breath of Kundalini breathing.  When I sing, I chant mantras to invoke qualities I wish to feel in my day and interactions.  When I sit in silence I create an inner calm that prepares me for the day ahead.

When you practice and grow your Yoga with me, know that I am thorough in my teachings, daily practice and study. I aim to support you and share with you the knowledge that was shared with me from my teachers, and that was shared with them from their teachers and so on and so on... The teachings I share are what have resonated with me and have left their imprint.

Let me share with you about how thorough a person I am. My morning Yoga routine includes cleaning my tongue with a copper Ayurvedic tongue scraper, oil pulling: this is swishing cold pressed oil around my mouth for 20 mins and then spitting it out, taking with it toxins from my gut and gunk from my mouth (mmm sounds nice, yes…). This is followed by Abhyanga, full body self massage before showering, then sitting down to a breath practice and mantra meditation. After my asana practice I cleanse with a neti pot, I pour filtered warm salted water up one nostril and down the other and then switch nostrils.

Now back to what you can come to expect when choosing to practice with me: I teach foundational alignment principles that will help create strength and grace. I create a welcoming, honest and inclusive space, in person and online. Each month you can attend workshops to explore deeper the wisdom of Yoga, such as Textures of Yoga. This unique one hour practice weaves meditation, yoga philosophy, mudras, chakra, storytelling, and nourishing breath practices. I also co-host creative collaborations, retreats and workshops, so that your experience is rich, engaging and unique.

Resilience for Business is an employee wellbeing programme that I’ve created to help employees manage stress, build resilience, and stay healthy both physically and mentally.

Students and staff of The University of Galway get to practice with me on campus. Degree programme nursing students in year 3 have a choice to practice a whole semester with me, on the Introduction to Yoga module. Students that live on campus can attend a Student Wellbeing Programme to help them achieve their best during exam time.

And finally… I am powered by the love of Yoga and you can be too!
